This book is about the life of Anthony Kiedis, who is the lead singer of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. He was born in Michigan. His parents were John and Peggy Kiedis. They seperated and got back together a few times when he was a baby. Then his dad moved to California and him and his mom stayed in Michigan. Eventually when he was eleven he really wanted to move out to California with his dad. So he did. In HighSchool, he formed a band with some of his good friends. His two best friends Flea, and Hillel were the bassist and guitarist.When he was in his early twenties, his band got a record deal. Through his twenties he was badly addicted to heroin and cocain, but after Hillel died from heroin overdose, he went sober. The Red Hot Chili Peppers went on to make many successful albums.
I haven't finished the book all the way yet, but so far overall its a good book. The author is trying to tell us about Anthony's life. They do a nice job with that definatly. Anthony Kiedis also has a pretty interesting life anyway, so that makes the book interesting.
If you like the Red Hot Chili Peppers, you would probably like this book. I would also recommend this book to people who like detailed descriptions of someones life. I would also recommend Scar Tissue to people who like nonfiction books.
